:: Location

Levendi's is a 7-acre private and gated country estate on the shores of the Ionian island of Ithaca. Perched on a hillside and having spectacular sea views, this organic olive oil producing estate includes four houses, each set into its own fragrant gardened terraces, a swimming pool and outdoor amenities.

:: Accommodation

The four traditionally styled houses on the Estate are scattered throughout the grounds. To ensure privacy, each house is surrounded by its own gardened terraces, which include relaxation areas and outdoor dining facilities.

Footpaths and stairways link the houses and meander through the groves and gardens down to the swimming pool; and further through the forest to beaches below the property

The outdoor cooking area, with refectory dining table; our morning coffee shop, and the summer house beside the pool terrace provide focal areas for those who like wander from the privacy of their own house to take the opportunity to socialise. Thus, you are able to enjoy the combination of proximity to the Estate's facilities and the privacy of your own house.

The Estate accommodates up to 20 people in total, with each house having:

• 2 bedrooms (one double, one twin) each with sea views across its own shaded verandah.
• living room, including fold-out settee/bed
• fully equipped kitchen with freezer, fridge and oven
• indoor and outdoor dining areas
• bathroom
• wood burning heater
• CD player, radio with audio tape, telephone and computer connections, on request

Children are very welcome and accommodation is suitable for elderly or infirm people.

As an additional incentive to having families as our guests, we often arrange separate accommodation for the older teenage members of your family who may feel they would like to be closer to the action at a nearby seaside village. This way their need to enjoy an independent holiday is met, whilst you are happy too, being able to check with them regularly.

:: Hotel Services

Whilst discussing arrangements for your holiday we will provide detailed advise and assistance regarding travel to Ithaca, and Athens stopovers can be arranged for you if you wish. Hospitality begins with our driver meeting you at either Athens or Kefallonia airport and does not end until you board your plane for the flight home.

On arrival you'll find your car in our car park, the kitchen well stocked with beverages and foods from the Estate, fresh bread is delivered daily, we provide a daily housekeeping service, a personal laundry service and traditional fare made with our organic produce can be prepared for you if you wish.

Our coffee shop is open every morning and fruits, vegetables and herbs are harvested each morning for your enjoyment. The pool and summer house are open from 7 am daily.

We are happy to arrange dingy hire, crewed yacht charters, horse-riding days and self-drive excursions to nearby islands. By appointment we offer child care and a nanny service. From June to Sept appointments can be made for therapeutic and/or aromatherapy massage at the Forest Pavilion. Seasonal local activities include exploring pathways to mountain-top villages, spring wildflower walks, swimming and snorkelling, boating and cycling.

Or if you'd rather, we will leave you in total peace to enjoy the tranquility of our surroundings.

Levendi's gives you an escape holiday. Despite its place in history as the home of Homer's Ulysses, Ithaca is an idyllic island yet to venture into tourism in any serious way. Our guests travel from all parts of the world to holiday with us each year, and we would very much enjoy sharing the joys of Levendi's with you too.
