Eridanus Hotel

is named after the historic river that crossed the city of Athens. The hotel is an elegant, friendly, luxurious and modern place that has turned hotel hospitality into an art form.

Eridanus Hotel opened since June 29, 2004 and is housed in a neoclassical landmark that belonged to the Strefis, a historical Athenian family.
Both the business and the traditional building now belong to a construction company named "Xidias", with extended experience in hotel construction, which renovated and redesigned the building accordingly.

"Eridanus" is located in the historical centre - area of Keramikos, at 78 Piraeus street, right across the archaeological site with the very same name.
The area of Keramikos is very significant, from both a historical and cultural point of view, for its archaeological value and its leading role in modern day Athens, since it is one of the city's most emerging areas

One of Eridanus Hotel's greatest advantages is its proximity to the unified archaeological sites of Athens (including Thissio, the Acropolis, the Pillars of Olympic Zeus etc.), comprising one of the largest, and certainly most unique, promenades in Europe, if not in the world, from a cultural as well as a historical (archaeological) viewpoint.

Modern style paintings, by Giorgos Lazongas, dominate the decorative artistic touch and make for a "historical", yet wonderfully blended contrast when compared to the neoclassical authentic ceiling frescos, which were very carefully conserved piece by piece before being replaced in their original places in the hotel.

Eridanus Hotel enjoys the unique privilege of being served (also available for room service) by one of the most timeless and beautiful restaurants in the city, "Varoulko" restaurant, operated by chef Lefteris Lazarou, which is considered one of the finest in Athens and comprises an affiliated business located adjacent to the hotel.

This is a classic and "original" restaurant of its type, serving Greek cuisine with an imaginative touch, with Mediterranean and international savours based on seafood but also encompassing meat in its creative dishes. "Varoulko" is a site not often missed by hotel visitors.

The hotel's cafe-bar and pantry are the niche for coffee, tea, beverages, drinks and light snacks (including breakfast) or even meals served in the hotel's special dining areas or right at your room by a perfectly efficient room-service.
