Hostel Backpackers offers great standart of cheap accommodation in the center of the city. Located just off Diogenes Walk, marble cobbled path around Acropolis, and sixty metres from the Acropolis metro exit.

The metro goes to and from Athens Airport (connection completed in April 2004) and Piraeus where the ferries leave for the Greek Islands. Located in quiet tree lined street, amongst galleries, theatres and good bars, you'll have no problem winding down or firing up.

 

ROOMS:

All rooms are newly renovated (apartment style) dorms, with 4 or more beds providing secure sleeping.

 

EQUIPMENT:

- Own WC, sink and shower.

- Private balcony

- Fridge, toasted sandwich making etc

- All bedding is brand new, pillows and mattresses are AA grade and sheets 100% cotton.

- All rooms have new AC units you control. Plus there is central heating for winter.

 

The Athens Backpackers has 5 floors and there is a lift to all floors.

 

WHEELCHAIR ACCESS
Wheelchair access is only possible if the chair can be lifted the first 6 steps to the lift.

 

FACILITIES and SERVICES:

The big communal kitchen, dining and sitting/TV areas are great to hang and meet people. We have film nights and Friday is 'Happy Hour' in the bar where you'll get the cheapest beer in town. You could just sit out on the sidewalk cafι or sun bathe on the roof and enjoy the Acropolis. Or rub it into your friends whilst surfing the net at the lowest prices in Athens.

 

- 24 hours access - The reception is staffed 24 hours a day for late arrivals, security and general good management.

- There are 4 terminals with fast Internet access using high speed connection. There are also scanners, CD and floppy copying and networking. Our rates are all heavily discounted for guests. So you can let your family know you’ve arrived by email.

- Newspapers & Magazines FREE For print junkies we get several copies of The Athens News, the Herald Tribune and Der Spiegl delivered for you to read over breakfast. We also have lots of the latest European mags.

- There are washing machines and drying facilities for your use.

- In the lounge area we project our TV onto a 1.5 meter by 1.5 meter wall screen with the latest DVD projector, we access a satellite dish so you can watch major sporting events on the Sports Channel as well as films, CNN and European World News

- Tours - The experienced staff who are able to help you find the best travel deals, services and accommodation around Greece. We take no fee and the prices we get are highly competitive, so compare prices before you buy any tickets.

- FREE library for Athens maps, site maps, bus and train maps as well as lots of island brochures. There is a quiet room set aside for reading and studying.

- All guests can access a phone or fax at the reception. If you have a mobile, we’ve got phone cards. You can also leave your phone at reception for charging.

 

HOUSE RULES:

No alcohol or smoking in rooms. The 24 hour-desk person keeps an eye on anything that may disturb you from getting a good nights sleep. House Rules are fully detailed under Conditions

With the metro: From the Airport or 'Pireas', take the new metro to 'Syntagma Square', change to the red line and go one station to 'Acropoli', take the metro exit on the right, to Athinasios Diakou, walk down this street 30 metres, turn left into Makri Street, we are 15 meters on the left.. cant miss us

With the bus: Take the airport bus to 'Syntagma Square', jump on the metro (red line) and go one station to 'Acropoli', take the metro exit on the right, to Athinas Diachou, walk down this street 30 metres, turn left into Makri Street, we are 15 meters on the left.. you wont miss us
